2017 Scales Scholarship Winner Announced at Conference

Cole Beevers, 2017 recipient of Darla Scales Memorial Scholarship

College sophomore Cole Beevers has been selected as MAEOP’s 2017 recipient of the Darla Scales Memorial Scholarship. Carol Skyhawk, coordinator of the program, announced Beever’s selection at MAEOP’s 68th State Convention in St. Cloud Oct. 5-6.

Beevers was not able to attend the conference to accept his award but wrote that the scholarship will assist him in funding his college tuition for spring semester.

A 2016 graduate of Chaska High School, Beevers is the son of Troy and Kathy Miller. He lettered three times in track and earned All-Metro West Conference honors as a senior and lettered three times in football

Beevers is in his second year at the University of North Dakotain Grand Forks, majoring in Business and Accounting. He said he had an “amazing freshman year and has  met many new people. He also enjoys his college classes and independence. Beevers was invited to join the University of North Dakota Men’s Track and Field team.
