Duties
The vice president membership shall:
- Become familiar with the Bylaws of the Minnesota Association of Educational Office Professionals and procedures of her/his particular office or assignment as set up in handbook
- Serve on the credentials committee
- Preside at meetings in absence of president and president-elect
- Plan and develop effective system for increasing and maintaining active membership
- Keep accurate updated list of members and status in MAEOP
- Mail annual renewal notices to all current MAEOP members in a timely manner
- Send membership card, membership booklet containing bylaws, life insurance policy, and welcome letter to new members
- Send thank-you letter and new membership card to renewal, retired, or associate members upon receipt of membership dues
- Prepare eligibility list for life insurance policy and send to treasurer for payment to life insurance company by policy renewal date
- Send overdue notices in timely manner to members who have not paid dues
- Prepare updated membership lists for conferences, board meetings or any other necessity
- Prepare mailing labels of members for MAEOP officer elections, conference brochures, correspondence, official publications (quarterly), Educational Office Professional of the Year and Educational Administrator of the Year nominations/elections, scholarship letter, “missed you” letters, and other organizational mailings
- Submit membership application form to be included in each conference registration brochure
- Set up membership table or display at conferences
- Coordinate assembly and printing of official membership booklet upon direction of board
- Be responsible for submitting agenda items and reports to president in timely manner
Upon executive board approval, the vice president membership may appoint a membership committee to assist in performance of these duties.
Term of Office
The vice president shall be elected for a term of two years and shall be eligible for reelection for one succeeding term.
